Patience is a Virtue

We have all more than likely heard someone say, “patience is a virtue”. But truly what does that mean and more importantly what is God’s perspective on patience.

The definition of virtue from Oxford Languages is “behavior showing high moral standards. The definition of patience from Oxford Languages is the “capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.”

When we read the Bible, we know that God is very patient. Also, his son Jesus was a very patient man. God wants us to learn to be patient especially during the tough times. It is during those times we truly learn patience and our faith with God strengthens.

As we walk with the Lord by our side and continue to study his word and pray our patience will grow. I know for me patience is hard. Some days I have more patience than the next. I pray daily for God to guide me and give me patience. While I continue to study and read the Bible, I am learning that patience truly is a virtue.
