Seasons of Life

I sit here watching the gate, waiting for one of my family members to bring cow calf pairs to take to pasture. I am reminded about the different seasons of my life. Right now, I am in one of my busier seasons (planting is done, hauling cows and calves to pasture, haying to start and kids on summer break). My season is extremely busy right now with my husband, kids and I outside most of the day which means the household stuff may not get done regularly (dishes get done every other day and laundry is washing what is needed for the next day’s work…the rest will get washed when it rains, or I can sneak a load in before going to bed).

Don’t think I am complaining because I’m not. Not every season of life for me is this busy. When the kids start school, it will be another busy season (harvesting crops, hauling hay home and bringing cattle home from pasture). In winter my season of life is slower (kids are going to school, extracurricular activities to attend and cows/calves need to be fed).

During my busier seasons of my life, I may get frustrated because some things (like household chores) don’t get done due to not enough time in the day. I look to God and remember that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle and that as soon as this busy season of my life has started this season will end and start a new season of my life will start. I am also truly blessed that I get to enjoy it all with my husband and kids every day.

Just like my seasons of life, all us have season of life…they are just different. Some seasons are easy while other are more challenging. Remember always, the good Lord is with us every step of the way. He paired each and every one of us with our unique seasons of life because he knew we could handle them.

I thank God for all the blessings he has so graciously given me. Remember just like the seasons of fall, winter, spring and summer change, so do the seasons of our lives.
