Devotional for February: Courage

 Scripture Verse: Deuteronomy 31:6  “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Devotional Thought: Sometimes we don’t feel very strong or courageous. Life can be hard and some days are just tougher to deal with than others. We need not fear because just as this verse says the Lord God goes with us and leads us. He will never leave us as long as we keep our faith strong. The Lord God gives us the strength and the courage to deal with whatever comes our way. He has equipped us with the biblical tools that we need if we just look to the biggest tool we have, which is the Bible. 

Action Point: If we just take a moment to look at the Bible we will definitely find what we need. We also need to remember that God provides for us in His timing. Sometimes it may be hidden and we need to look for it such as a loved one doing the dishes or cooking a meal without being asked, a friend or family member stopping by or calling unexpectedly, or the beauty of a sunset or seeing a wild animal passing by. The next time we feel like our day is getting the better of us remember the Lord God is always with us providing us the strength and courage to face anything. 

Dear Heavenly Father, 

We pray that you would give us the strength and courage to face everyday life. Help us to remember to not be in fear because you are always with us. Help us to look to the Bible for what we need and talk to you in prayer. Thank you, Lord God, for always being with us. 

In your name, we pray, Amen.
