A Tribute to Mother’s Day

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.  Proverbs 31:25-31

Mothers play an important role in their family’s lives. Mothers have many qualities such as caring, nurturing and providing. Mothers are to train up their children so that when they are old, they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). They also provide a great example for their children. As a caretaker, mothers do not sit idle as they are constantly providing and working in the household for their family.

In the ten commandments of the Bible the fifth one says we are to honor our father and mother. We can do this in a variety of ways. We can listen, respect and love our mother not only on Mother’s Day but every day of the year.

On this Mother’s Day let’s honor the mother in your life and thank her for all she does on scene and behind the scenes that we don’t see. Take a moment to show her she’s had a major positive effect on your life not just today but every day.
