Day-to-Day Expectations
Contributed by Carrie Guthmiller
As I go about my day-to-day life, I have to-do lists that I need to, have to, and would like to accomplish each day. Each of you reading this has your own day-to-day to-do lists. As you read this article in the back of your mind you may even be thinking about them. Our to-do lists are our expectations of what and how the day should look like. I would like each of you to take a step back from your to-do lists and day to day expectations for a moment and read this verse:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
This verse keeps me grounded in my faith and reminds me that even though I have my own day-to-day expectations, God already has the plans for us all laid out, eternal plans. Sometimes at the end of the day when I look back at my day and what I have done I may not have gotten all that I expected to do finished but that God’s will has been done. As long as I have faith and the Lord on my side my day-to-day expectations will follow his plans that he already knows.
