Scripture Verse: Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day in its own trouble.”
Devotional Thought: How many of us are guilty about lying there in bed at night trying to fall asleep while we are worrying about tomorrow and what it will bring. I know I have been there numerous times. I am trying to fall asleep while my thoughts are racing with the day’s events and what will happen tomorrow. We are anxious about lots of things in our lives but God is here for us.
Action: Why are we anxious about tomorrow when God is the only one that holds the cards as to what will happen. I have a pillow on my bed with a saying on it that says: Give it to God and go to sleep. What a great reminder. When I give all my anxious thoughts to God I sleep better at night. I am not tossing and turning with worry, which is not necessary. I challenge you all to Give it to God and Go to Sleep! He is the one to hold the cards about tomorrow and nows what will be, so what are we anxious about when we don’t know what the next day will bring.
Prayer: Dear God, I pray that you will take away all my anxious thoughts about tomorrow. Only you know what tomorrow will bring. You hold the cards and have tomorrow laid out already. Help me to put my trust in you knowing that you will not give me more than I can handle. I ask that you will be with me tomorrow and that you will surround me with your presence and help me to let go of all my anxiety. In your name, I pray, Amen.
