Taking our Success out of the Hands of Others

As a business owner, I am continually trying to do what is best for my business. As a multi-business owner, I am looking for ways to make one action work for all or more than one of my platforms.

I am constantly bombarded by suggestions, emails, and theories on how to do this; you should be doing this, and of course, if you don’t do X, Y, and Z, you will fail. However, I have successfully made it this far, so I can’t be doing things wrong.

However, this spring, as I have worked through a number of challenges, I have realized that no matter what I do in my business, it first and foremost has to be who I am and what I am comfortable doing. Staying true to oneself is imperative.

Secondly, I am reminded of my priorities in life…faith and family first and foremost. However, should it just be a priority? A priority of walking strong in my faith? In Proverbs 16:3, we read, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

So then we should ask ourselves why we work so hard to try and make all these plans, implement ideas that aren’t us and compare ourselves to the business next door, thinking we are not doing enough. We truly are if we are working for the Lord. He has the plan already…we just need to listen and do it!

Here’s to less planning and more doing!
