Celebrating Moms for Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there!! You are very much appreciated for all the things you do from day to day.

When thinking about mothers there are many ways to celebrate them. You can go all out and take them out for dinner or give them a spa day or massage or send flowers. Those options are very thoughtful and nice, but we can always just keep it simple. I have two girls and the oldest is a wonderful cook, who cooks totally from scratch and doesn’t always need a recipe. As simple as it sounds, for me, having my oldest cook the meal is a way to celebrate me as a mom. To me, it’s the, “Hey mom, I’ll cook the meal so you can have a break.” Also, it’s a treat for me to get to enjoy her wonderful meals. Other simple ways to celebrate moms might include:

  • Taking the time to call, if you don’t live in the same town.
  • Go and spend time with them, have a cup of coffee or tea and catch up on life
  • Prepare a meal and take it to mom’s house and enjoy
  • This one is a silent celebration, but pray for them
  • For kids it could be a simple craft project they do themselves and give to mom

So with this day dedicated to moms, let us celebrate all they have done for us. Thank you to all the moms out there for all you do from the big things like taking your kids to sports events, attending those events of your kid’s and cheering them on to the little things that may seem to go unnoticed like making sure the clothes are washed, checking the backpacks at night when the kids are in bed to just make sure they have what they need, or silently buying their favorite snack at the grocery store without them asking. With all the many ways to celebrate we would love to hear how you choose to celebrate the mom in your life.
